Who We Are

Raddie and Rue is based in the UK ("we", "us", "our"). Also uses the name Raddie & Rue. We are the data controller responsible for your personal information, and we are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under registration reference ZC170140.

Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • your name

  • email address

  • delivery and billing address

  • phone number

  • payment information (processed securely by our payment providers; we do not store full card details)

  • information you submit to our Adventure Map (photographs and a general location)

  • information provided on photoshoot consent forms (parent or guardian name, child's name and a contact number)

  • messages you send us through our contact form or by email

  • website usage information collected through cookies

How We Use Your Information and Our Legal Basis

Under UK data protection law, we must have a lawful basis for using your information. We use it as follows:

  • to process, fulfil and deliver your orders (legal basis: performance of our contract with you)

  • to communicate with you about your order and provide customer support (legal basis: performance of our contract, and our legitimate interests)

  • to send marketing emails where you have opted in (legal basis: your consent)

  • to display Adventure Map submissions and to use photographs in our marketing (legal basis: your consent)

  • to keep accounting and tax records (legal basis: our legal obligations)

  • to prevent fraud, keep our website secure and improve our services (legal basis: our legitimate interests)

Children's Privacy

We care deeply about protecting children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Where our marketing, photoshoots or Adventure Map feature children, we only do so with the written consent of a parent or guardian, who may withdraw that consent at any time by emailing hello@raddieandrue.com. Consent forms and the details on them are kept securely and used only for the purpose for which they were given.

The Adventure Map

If you submit a photo and location to our Adventure Map, we use it to display your submission on the map, our website, our social media and our marketing, in line with the permission you give at the point of submission. We intentionally delay publication and do not require or collect identifying details such as full names, home addresses or school names. You can ask us to remove a submission at any time by emailing hello@raddieandrue.com.

Marketing

If you subscribe to our mailing list, we may send you updates, launch news, offers and product information. We only do this with your consent, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any of our emails or by contacting us. We will not pass your details to other companies for their own marketing.

Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted providers who help us run our business, and only to the extent they need it, including:

  • Squarespace, which hosts our website, online store and email sign-ups

  • our payment providers (such as Stripe and/or PayPal) who process payments securely

  • delivery and courier companies who fulfil your order

  • our email marketing platform

We may also disclose information where required by law.

International Transfers

Some of our providers (including Squarespace) are based outside the UK, so your information may be transferred and stored outside the UK. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure your information is protected by appropriate safeguards, as required by UK data protection law.

How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep your information only for as long as necessary:

  • order and transaction records: up to 6 years, to meet tax and accounting obligations

  • marketing data: until you unsubscribe or ask us to stop

  • photoshoot consent records and submissions: for as long as we use the related content, and consent records are retained as evidence of permission

  • general enquiries: for as long as needed to deal with your query

Data Security

We take reasonable steps to keep your personal information secure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you

  • ask us to correct inaccurate information

  • ask us to delete your information

  • object to or restrict how we use your information

  • withdraw consent at any time (where we rely on consent)

  • request a copy of your information in a portable format
